Thank you Megan! I've been trying to get this song out of my fiddle since I was about 8! Was just listening to a Hoyt Axton version and noticed the stopping was a bit different, went exploring, and found your version! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you Megan for this. I am just learning to really play fiddle. Does anyone know where to get Devil Went Down To Georgia for free?
ReplyDeleteYes, I found it on musicnotes.com by Charlie Daniels.
DeleteMegan,
ReplyDeleteThanks for this music! What bowing did you use in the running 16th note passage? I love the groove you get on your recording but as I am classically trained I have no idea what I'm doing...!
Thank you!
I used the Georgia shuffle. You can find an exercise to practice it in a post on this site caller "A Major Intermediate Warm Ups". I'll try to add some bowings to this music as well.

Do you have sheet music that includes a harmony line to the melody?
ReplyDeleteYikes! That sounds hard. I'll see what I can do. Bowings and harmony.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this... My grandpa has been wanting me to play this for a while!!
ReplyDeleteIs this arrangement considered an intermediate or advanced piece?
ReplyDeleteAdvanced. I teach this at the END of Suzuki Book 4.
Deleteis this the whole song?
ReplyDeleteIs there any standard introduction to this song, or does everyone come up with their own?

ReplyDeletefantastic folks thanks for that resourse.... Greg Ori...
